Tripindi Shradha is a contribution to the memory of the dear departed. Tripindi Shradha means Pind daan of our last three generations who passed away. Tripindi shradha is also called Pitru Dosh. If anyone in the family from the previous three generations has passed away in a very young age or old age for that souls, we have to do the Tripindi Shradha. If the Tripindi shradha has not been made for continuously last three years to the departed souls, then the dead gets angry, so to calm them, we performed Tripindi Shradha. Tripindi Shradha is the pind daan of the forefathers of the previous three generations.
According to the Shradhakamalakar Scripture, it is described as Shradha of our forefathers should be performed 72 times in a year. Shradha is not getting performed due to some reason for several years; then ancestors remain unsatisfied and displeased.
Tripindi Shradha pooja is performed with the "Pind" (Rice balls) assembled on "Vishnu Paad" to calm down Lord Vishnu in the form of Gadadhar. As per the ancient scriptures, it is suggested that this rite is performed only at the tirtha kshetra. Out of another tirtha kshetra Rameshwaram, Gokarna, Srirangapattana, Gaya and Trimbakeshwar. Trimbakeshwar Nasik is the most auspicious place to perform. Tripindi Shradha rite at Trimbakeshwar reduces the problems that occurred due to Pitru dosh.
